Diana Ringer

Meet your area 1 representative Lion Diana Ringer. A second-generation Lion, she joined not long after losing her father, looking for a way to hold onto a part of who he was. (Football, medicine, and polo were all nonstarters.) She found service was a way to preserve the connection. Along the way, it became something more: a love of serving others that grew into her own calling.

She brings a rare combination to the table: a passion for technology and a heart for serving people. She loves people — championing the unique gifts, talents, and abilities that make each of them so precious — and she's found her own gift is building the quiet infrastructure that lets those people shine.

Where others see a website, a spreadsheet, or a playbook, Diane sees an opportunity to lighten the load for every volunteer who comes after her, so CA Lions can multiply their impact year over year.

Goals for the Year Ahead

This year, Diane is on a mission to strip away the busy work that quietly wears volunteers down — the administrative logistics that eat up time without ever moving the mission forward. It means trading inefficient, time-intensive tasks for smarter tools and processes that run consistently and predictably, year to year with little intervention from the volunteer. When they transition out, what they contributed remains embodied in a collective institutional knowledge.

To get there, she's leading a new IT/Training Working Group , bringing together like-minded, skilled Lions to tackle the meatier problems that no single volunteer can solve. Because every hour a Lion doesn't spend wrestling behind the scenes is an hour they get to spend where it matters most: face to face with the people they serve. Technology should carry the weight, so people can carry each other.
